Plot Review:
Ponyboy Curtis, a teenaged individual from a free group of “greasers”, is leaving a cinema when he is bounced by “Socs”, the greasers’ opponent posse. A few greasers, including Ponyboy’s two more established siblings—the fatherly Darry and the well-known Sodapop, act the hero.
The following evening, Ponyboy and two greaser companions, the solidified Dally and the calm Johnny, meet Cherry and Marcia, a couple of Soc young ladies, at a drive-in cinema. Cherry rejects Dally’s inconsiderate advances, yet Ponyboy winds up talking commonly with Cherry, sincerely interfacing with a Soc without precedent for his life.
A while later, Ponyboy, Johnny, and their joking companion Two-Bit start to walk Cherry and Marcia home, when they are halted by Cherry’s beau Bob, who gravely beat up Johnny a couple of months back. Sway and the greaser’s trade insults, yet Cherry forestalls a battle by readily leaving with Bob.
