Catherine marries a rich man named Edgar Linton, while Heathcliff marries Edgar’s sister so that he can inherit her money. Catherine dies while giving birth to a daughter named Cathy. Heathcliff gains ownership of Wuthering Heights after the death of Edgar Linton. Heathcliff dies too and he rejoins his beloved Catherine.
